C.H.E.S.S. – Changing Habits, Empowering Self-Sufficiency
Our name reflects our mission: to help individuals make intentional moves that lead to long-term success—just like a winning strategy on a chessboard. Every decision matters. Every life has potential.
"To be a safe haven and launching pad where individuals can discover their value, develop discipline, and walk into a future filled with hope, purpose, and productivity."
We see a world where formerly incarcerated and recovering individuals are no longer discarded—but discipled, equipped, and reintroduced to their communities as contributors, not statistics.
"To provide a Christ-centered environment that supports men and women in recovery and reentry through mentorship, life skills training, and spiritual development."
Our mission is not simply to house, but to heal. We combine biblical teaching, accountability structures, and personal development to help each resident transition into sustainable independence.
At CHESS House, we focus on:
Addiction, incarceration, and homelessness are often cycles—not choices. CHESS House interrupts those cycles by offering stability, structure, and support from a place of compassion and conviction. We believe everyone deserves a second chance - and we exist to make that chance count.
